SmartBoard S.O.S.

There are thousands of different features that can be used with the SmartBoard though most can be discovered from playing with it, the SmartBoard is normally shipped with software developed by a company SMARTWorks Who create the SmartBoard Software (Notebook).

SMARTWorks have recently create version 10 of their Notebook software which you are required to pay for. (download here). However it is difficult to see the benefits of this version 10 in comparison to older FREE versions.

Notebook version 9.14 is still FREE and can be downloaded from here

Teachers Underground recommend that you do download this software so you can plan and create lessons from home using the SmartBoard program Notebook. This program truly is at the heart of the next generation of lessons and is a fundamental part of planning interactive and fun learning in the classroom.

Once you have download and installed the SmartBoard software you will be able to download and view the interactive tutorial file, the file will show you the basic functions of the notebook software and teach you how to use them.

You can get an idea of what the software is capable of by viewing this teaching aid that was created using the SmartBoard software to teach a group about pattern symbols in a textiles lesson, the students were called up to the interactive SmartBoard and then able to move with their fingers the icons, and the magnifying glass to uncover hidden words (you will need the SmartBoard software installed to view)
